Timothy Lownie earned his PhD and MSc. in Computer Science from Queen’s University, and The University of Toronto, Canada. Dr. Lownie has over 15 years working in industry working for both major established companies and high-tech start-up firms. He is a published researcher and holds a number of patents in both Canada and the U.S. He specializes in leading software technologies, especially enterprise and distributed computing, and in addition has in-depth knowledgeable regarding high performance hardware and real-time embedded systems. As the Chief Architect of Dakota GRC, Dr Lownie manages the daily design considerations for Dakota’s leading, web-based products including Compliance Manager, Risk Manager and Surveyware. He determines product design concepts for these Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Compliance and Governance systems based upon product direction. He also works closely with Marketing and Development teams to ensure Dakota GRC, Inc. maintains overall product superiority in the ERM, Compliance and Governance industries.
